Durr V / VS / VSA 300 S Cabinet Installation Ventilation Cooling Kit
The installation manual states:
- the room should be closed, dry and well ventilated.
- Ventilation must be provided if there is a risk that the recommended room air temperature could be exceeded. The air flow performance must be at least 2 m ³/min.
- Do not cover cooling slots or openings, ensure sufficient clearance in the openings to permit sufficient cooling.
It is common for the unit to be installed in a cabinet within the surgery which doesn't always provide the correct ventilation required. This kit connects onto the top fan cover and attaches to the door or the side of the cabinet so it can draw in cool air from the surgery and keep the pump cool.
Secondly, heat produced is vented via the exhaust pipe so all effort should be made to route the exhaust outside of the building and not into the cupboard.
Sometimes if the pump gets too hot you will get a motor fault, this is where the impeller gets hot and warps. Once the pump cools down the impeller cools and the pump works again. This is common when poor ventilation and long treatments are combined.
